For nearly a decade, the Workshop on Weather and Climate Extremes series has brought together leading researchers from the fields of Statistics, Atmospheric Sciences, and Hydrology/Hydroclimatology.  The inaugural workshop took place at Penn State in 2016, marking the beginning of a collaborative platform dedicated to advancing research on climate extremes.
