Prof. Likun Zhang (PI) received prestigious NSF grant of $175,000 over the period of 09/01/2023 to 08/31/2026 to study climate extreme climate events. 

"The objective of this proposal is to develop and apply analytical tools that turn climate model output into realistic analysis of extreme events.  Our approach will dramatically improve on both current common practice of analyzing extremes of climate model output directly and on existing statistical methods.  It will make significant advances in leveraging aspects of climate models that are informative about extreme events, while avoiding reliance on aspects that perform poorly." - Prof. Likun Zhang
