NASA Grant awarded to Prof. Sounak Chakraborty (Co-PI) to study Climate Change Impact on Agriculture and Ecosystem

NASA has chosen Lincoln University as one of eight universities to receive funding for STEM programs through its new Data Science Equity, Access, and Priority (DEAP) research and education opportunity. Department of Statistics, University of Missouri is proud to be a partner with Lincoln University in this initiative.
Most of the research in this project is focused on incorporation of data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning to better understand various natural resource issues. The DEAP opportunity enables HBCU and partner university students and faculties to conduct innovative data science research with experts in the field.
LU will receive $1.5 million over three years through NASA's Minority University Research and Education Project. This project aims to provide financial assistance to higher education institutions that bring underrepresented students into science, technology, engineering and math fields.
Prof. Sounak Chakraborty is the Co-PI of this grant from University of Missouri and Prof. Sougata Bardhan, an assistant professor of natural resources management at Lincoln University is the PI of this grant from Lincoln University.
