Keno project: undergraduate students help states improve their lottery odds and probabilities
August 2, 2024
Matthew McIntosh, an assistant teaching professor, is leading undergraduate researchers in a quest to improve the accuracy of state lottery odds and probabilities. The Keno Project provides students with hands-on learning outside the classroom. The team is evaluating states across the nation to determine the most accurate presentation of the odds so players can rely on the information before they play. Students contact state lottery organizations, developing strategic messaging and developing relationships that ultimately lead to the game updates.
