In October 2023, alumni, current students, faculty, and friends of the Department gathered on Mizzou’s campus to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the University of Missouri’s Department of Statistics. The Being Significant: 60 Years of Mizzou Statistics conference included four keynote speakers, sixteen session speakers, poster presentations from more than twenty current graduate students, two shared meals, laughs and conversations. It was two days full of energy, excitement, nostalgia, and innovation, and the perfect way to celebrate the department's anniversary.
