The PhD in Statistics prepares students professional leadership in statistical research, teaching, and collaboration as faculty at colleges and universities and as researchers at government institutions or in the private sector.

The teaching and research programs of the Department of Statistics range all modern methodological and applied statistics fields.  The department’s curriculum covers wide ranging topics of theoretical and computational statistics, and wide variety of applications in novel and emerging new type of data sets.

The goal of the program is to train next generation of students who will lead the development of new statistical methodologies, models, computational tools with innovative applications.
