Abstract: During this talk, the speaker will provide a comprehensive introduction of the drug development process in the pharmaceutical industry. The key activities within each stage of the process and the roles and responsibility of statisticians will be discussed in a more detailed manner. To illustrate how statistics can be used to solve business problems, several examples will be presented at the end of the presentation. The objective of this talk is to help students gain some insight on the life of a professional biostatistician in pharmaceutical industry.
